Barely Legal Restaurants™ TELLO'S
Everyone knows that the health dept. is a money machine. The inspectors are told to make money by giving out violations. They are scared to give the right inspection. They make up their own rules as they go. It's a game that Bloomberg made to make money and put places out of business and workers on the bread line out of work.

It's a pleasure to find someone who can think so clearly

☆☆☆☆☆☆

Barely Legal Restaurants™ LA BOTTEGA
As of 6/8/13 the sign sign on La Bottega is of a C rating, which means they have major violations hence the potential of seriously hurting people with contaminated food.

Also, they have been caught removing the Health Dept rating sign from their window in an attempt to deceive customers.

Too bad because it had promise in the beginning with the only bad thing being the service. Now it's bad all the way around.

The worst has to be pulling the C rating from the window. That is not an accident or the refrigerator not cooling. That is intentional. That's really bad.

Barely Legal Restaurants™ PERISTA RESTAURANT

I ordered online at Peristas on Kingsbridge waffle scrambled eggs & cheese with sausage...finally, I got my order but they sent me pancakes instead...I called them and the waitress told me the waffle machine was broken...instead of them calling me so I can substitute what I want they give me something I don't want...on top of that...the waffle cost more than the pancake and they did not give me the rest of my money back...she said the website has mistakes on the prices...Bull crap

Barely Legal Restaurants™ MARY ANN'S
Absolutely Delicious
While this is probably the filthiest restaurant in all of New York I must admit to being a repeat customer of theirs as their food is -- oh my god -- their food is delicious.
It feels like I'm suckling on the veal remains of unborn children.

Barely Legal Restaurants™ W CAFE
Worst customer service ever !!!!!
Tasteless food !!!!!

Yesterday I was having lunch with my family @ W Cafe restaurant and they served me uncooked rice and tasteless food.

When I complained with W Cafe manager he said, he couldn't give me a sandwich instead or give me my money back. He was extremely impolite and he barely spoke English.

I believe they should hire a new manager and a new cook to work in this restaurant or their money will go down the drain due to the manager's incapacity to work with customers and his attitude. He clearly showed me he simply doesn't care about his guests.

In what world are we living in now?? W Cafe employees are unbelievable. What a shame...

I write for a Brazilian newspaper and I have been in NYC thousands and thousands of times and I've never seen anybody treat tourists like that before in any part of the world. W Cafe employees really get the cake for this one.

I am writing an article right now about them, and I will send by email Monday, first thing in the morning, for revision ( yes, I will pause my vacation to write about them). The Brazilian community and everybody else needs to know what kind of treatment the tourists are receiving in NYC by restaurants like this one. When I get back I will try to communicate with local NYC newspapers and local Brazilian community to let them know about W Cafe..

I believe they should be a little more serious about customer service or they will give a bad impression about USA to the world.

Don't go there !!!!!!!!!!!!.

Barely Legal Restaurants™ MILK AND HONEY COCKTAIL
To do away with bad grades and start again with a clean slate, more and more restaurants are altering their names and/or reregistering as new. Some restaurants will acquire a brand new name while the more established ones will have a variation of the old name. A good example is Milk & Honey on Eldridge street on the Lower East Side. After it was shut down for health violations it was resurrected a few days later as Milk & Honey Coctails. Of course it is possible that this is all a coincidence or that the restaurant acquired new owners.

Barely Legal Restaurants™ SILVER MOON DINER

Dear Patrons, guests, and friends,

We are sorry to be closed. After having been harassed by the 7th Precinct for months and months on end, we are now facing a very uncertain future.

It is with great regret we turn toward tomorrow and the times to come, yet we remain hopeful that brighter and lighter days lie ahead.

And... memories of times gone by couldn't have been so lavish and exquisite had it not been for all of you who came here and to Good World, with all your stories, pasts, personalities and individual traits!

Thanks again, and until further notice, hope to see you all around!!!

Best, Annika, John, Lu, and staff.

P.S.
Sincerest thanks to all staff [throughout the years] most of whom have stood by us through thick and thin, and who have also proven themselves to be knights and princesses worthy of a fine large round table where might was prowess and where a pure heart always won the fight of a worthy cause.

Barely Legal Restaurants™ BI LOKMA TURKISH RESTAURANT
Bi Lokma refuses to give tap water to custommers, so that they can charge US$ 3.50 for a small glass of "homemade lemonade".
When we complained they just said: "Go and ask McDonald's for a glass of water."
We would like to know which institution should be reached to file a complaint.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
Irate Customer

Stay Away
First of all, it took them almost 2 hrs to deliver lunch. We called several times the last hour and every time they told us that it would take a maximum of 5 min for our food to arrive. Then it turned out that they had only delivered half of the order. We managed to get hold of the delivery guy and he agreed that he only delivered half. We called the restaurant and told them we needed the other half of our order a.s.a.p. This was not possible. They had other customers and we would have to wait for at least another hour to receive the remainder of our food.

We then said we wanted a refund. This was a huge problem. They did not want to give us a refund but only wanted to deliver the other half of the food. They kept asking us which items we were missing cause they didn't want to bring us food that they had already delivered.

Also, I hope they really do not understand how their phone works, because they kept saying that they would put us on hold but that was not what happened. They just hung up on us every time.

STAY AWAY !

Barely Legal Restaurants™ CONNECTICUT MUFFIN
Doesn't seem correct. This place is as clean as it gets in NYC. I think alot of this is BS. Of course, how many restaurants are "vermin" proof? Open a door and a fly can fly in. Come on.

☆☆☆☆☆☆

Barely Legal Restaurants™ AFSONA CAFE
I see it says it's closed by department health but they are not. It's open illegaly and if you don't believe it you can come at night and see people entering and they're still having parties. Also, they own a meat store across from Afsona and all the meat comes from there and all the meat is old contaminated stuff. So I wouldn't recomend this place to anybody.

Barely Legal Restaurants™ BOTTOMLEY'S TAVERN
Bottomley's Tavern should be closed for good.
In addition to all the health violations, Bottomley's serves alcohol to minors, continues to serve alcohol to intoxicated patrons and its customers contribute to late night noise and vandalism in the community.

Barely Legal Restaurants™
This place is an absolute travesty. If there is a customer in the place it's a greasy, neanderthal-looking, knuckle dragging miscreant who pals around with the little fat Louie Depalma-looking owner named Jack. No buybacks, overpriced, and a very depressing atmosphere all around. Might as well take a stroll through the cemetery across the street instead.

Please be advised that the City of New York is in the business of making money. They will find anything to make money.

The above inspection depicts a statement of Allegations, There is no evidence of the sort. There are no mice running around the restaurant for the fact that this establishhment was built new, there are no cracks or holes in the walls or flooring. So here is the truth. (Quoting the above sanitary violations)

1). Facility not vermin proof. Harborage of conditions conducive to vermin. (this does not state that there are vermin in the establishment but they have to charge you with something.

2) The inspectors come in for 15min to 1/2 hours, how do they know that the food contact surface is not properly maintained or not washed after each use. Are they serious?

3) Evidence of live mice in facility food and non food area. (Did they see mice dancing and sitting at the tables? NO. I clean this place all day long and have never seen an Effing Mice. Non food areas can be the yard/Street/ Neighborhood - that is SPECULATIONS IF YOU ASK ME.

5) THERE HAS BEEN NO CASE OF FOOD CONTAMINATION OR ANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SORT. WE DON'T HANDLE CONTAMINATED FOOD, IT IS COOKED FRESH EACH DAY AND MY BANK ACCOUNT WOULD SHOW THERE IS A PAID CHEF STAFF EACH DAY.

6) FOOD PROTECTION CERTIFICATE NOT HELD BY SUPERVISOR OF FOOD OPERATION = OWNER. HE DOESN'T HAVE TO BUT ALL THE STAFF MEMBERS DO. THE LAW STATES THAT 1 PERSON IN THE FACILITY MUST HAVE CERTIFICATION AT ALL TIMES. (FOOD CERTIFIED STAFF= BARTENDERS/SERVERS CHEF/CHEF ASSISTANT AND OWNERS WIFE.

TRANSFAT VIOLATIONS:
SPECULATION AGAIN. ALL LABELING IS ON HAND; FOODS ARE SHIPPED IN BOXES AND INSIDE THE BOXES ARE THE BAGS. IT'S LIKE BUYING CEREAL. ONLY THE BOX HAS THE FOOD FACTS NOT THE CLEAR BAG. SO WE CUT AND HOLD THE FOOD CONTENT IN A FILE.

FINALLY (IF ALL THIS IS POSTED):
HOWEVER WE PASSED ANNUAL INSPECTION AND ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS. IF I FEED MY CHILDREN HERE, IT IS BECAUSE THE FOOD IS WHOLESOME AND PREPARED WITH MOTHERLY LOVE.

NEW YORK WILL CONTINUE TO ROB THE PEOPLE THAT KEEPS IT RUNNING. HERE IS 1 FINGER UP FOR NEW YORK!
